I applied online. I interviewed at American Heart Association
Interview
I completed a one way video interview. I answered questions while filming my response. Then I had a phone call interview, which was pretty typical. They were friendly, but the process was slow. Between each step there was about a 3-4 week wait.

Interview
Process was lengthier than expected. Communication varies depending on the recruiter. Some are definitely better than others, Experience seems to be just as poor internally with poor communication and even receive automatic rejection emails internally with no communication.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at American Heart Association (Hampton, VA) in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview process typically began with an initial screening, where I discussed my background, fundraising experience, and overall fit for the role. I then moved into one or two more in-depth interviews with leadership, where I was asked about my approach to building donor relationships, managing campaigns, and achieving revenue goals. As part of the process, I was also given a practical component, such as outlining a fundraising strategy or walking through how I would approach a specific revenue target. In the final stages, I met with additional stakeholders or board members to assess my ability to represent the organization and collaborate across teams.
