      Engineer I Interview

      Oct 1, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Centennial, CO
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AlloSource (Centennial, CO)

      Interview

Each department has its own personality at AlloSource, and so the info here can only be applied to a few specific departments. Engineering, R&D, and Validation are all managed by similar personalities, and so this review can apply to them, but not elsewhere in the company. A phone interview is quick, and is more about setting up the face-to-face interview than anything else. If you even have a phone interview. When you get to the office, you are brought into one of the medium sized conference rooms, and either sit at the head of a table, or facing between 3 and 5 engineers. The department manager or director will lead the interview. Most of the department will be there, either coming and going as their schedules allow, or to sit through the entire thing. Managers from related technical departments may also sit in and ask questions. The interview can last between an 1 to 2 hours. Technical skills are tested, but the real thing Allosource is looking for is personality. AlloSource is a small company, and has an excellent community spirit. People get along well, and there is a very pleasant culture. The managers want to keep that. Technical questions are not too terribly tough, and generally center around how you would handle a hypothetical engineering problem (not so hypothetical if you get hired). A second interview was not done. I was offered the job over a month after the interview. The delay was due to their own internal new employee intake procedure, which starts new people in batches every month.
