      Security Officer Interview

      Jan 27, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Allied Universal (Los Angeles, CA) in Dec 2022

      Interview

Existing employees that apply for a different position within the company, AUS requires that the employee submit a Transfer Request form to their immediate Manager before getting an interview, you are not allowed to interview for any positions without this. This makes no sense, giving heads-up to your manager that you want to work elsewhere within the company will create a problem with your immediate manager, putting your position & livelihood at risk. ‘This creates fear and career enslavement to all employees, making it impossible to ever advance your career within this company.’ Does anyone in the workforce, executive management/ management included, tell their immediate manager that they’re looking to leave for career advancement? Of course not, No One does this, it’s career suicide. Unfortunately, I wasted an entire day eagerly waiting for an interview to be immediately told, “where’s your Transfer Request form.” I was speechless. Why submit a Transfer Request form for an interview, prior to receiving a a job offer? This was my crossroad moment with this company. AUS will start losing excellent, intelligent employees because of this absurd, humiliating requirement. AUS claims that their reason for this mandatory form is so that IF the interviewed employee is offered the job, they won't immediately leave without giving the current manager a replacement. They could easily achieve this by 'Mandating that Human Resources have all employees sign a Two-Week Notice form, ONLY after an employee has been Offered the position, and has Accepted the position, via written job offer. ONLY After acceptance, the employee's current manager is notified via Human Resources. In closing about the Interview Process, while waiting for my interview I observed people coming for interviews wearing torn up jeans, tennis shoes, and one lady had on pink house slippers. All of these things are Allied Universal's interview process. With AUS's current Transfer Request form, if an employee is not offered the new job position after, this employee is still working under that same immediate manager & supervisors, and this relationship has forever changed because the employee aspires for advancement. This interview process experience is evidence that 'AUS has no regard for the career welfare or advancement for it's employees.'

      Interview

Interview experience with this company was nothing short of disappointing. As I attempted to interview, show up, and complete all steps communicated; I was faced with a no-show interview with little-to-no communication.
