Was put through a screening interview that went well and was told I will be contacted for the second round interview with the hiring manager. The interview with the hiring manager was about 45 minutes and it ended with that manager telling me about the rest of the interview process which was interviewing with stakeholders and then another final round interview with the hiring manager again. At the end of the interview I was asked to send references over to HR (which did my screening) After sending references HR did not confirm receipt. Following up with HR again and still didn’t get a response. The date that they wanted to hire for this role passed so I assume they weren’t interested. Still seemed very unprofessional to ask for references and then ghost a candidate. I would prefer to not giver references if they knew they didn’t want to move forward.
