Interview
I was interviewed by two front desk managers. Both probably nice in real life but in the interview they were very much aggressively and uncomfortably hammering down on me on to fit the mold they’re looking for. It was belittling feeling and made me feel like my decade long experience including historic hotels that were also under renovation and including the ritz Carlton meant so little as what really mattered was badgering me to to the point of making me uncomfortable. The icing on the cake was when the concierge called apparently she vets potential employees and again my experience and personality and leadership skills were brushed to the side as she asked for three paragraphs of what excellence means to me. Not even the ritz Carlton, the top luxury hotel gave me an interview this needling this demanding and this .., asking for the world and getting little in the interview in return. I also found out the previous front office supervisor was great with guests and with the staff and got fired because staff was too comfortable. I feel like that’s a retraining thing not a firing thing and makes me wonder if the staff liked me that I’d be in fear for my job. I retracted my candidacy.

Interview
This review is in regards to Hamilton's Kitchen at The Alfond Inn. The interviewer basically used my whole interview to talk poorly about my former employers. He said that my last employer was the worst experience he's ever had and he'd rather eat at a golden corral than go there. He also claimed that they were overflowing with applicants so if I didn't have the experience they were looking for I'm not sure why he wasted my time interviewing me. I presume they saw my resume prior to the interview so they could've easily skipped interviewing me. I got a very pompous and disrespectful feeling from the manager I spoke with. I felt slightly belittled and like the interviewer was very condescending.

Interview
I was sat down at an outside table, the manager (who no longer works their) did a fantastic job at interviewing. It was relaxed but professional and you could tell he was serious about who he employed. He started off with basic questions about attendance and professionalism, addressed the fact that it was a 4 star restaurant and 5 star hotel, meaning the guests have a high expectation of service.
