The interview process began with an initial application, followed by a first-stage online interview. During this interview, I was asked about my background, why I was interested in the role, the types of content I enjoy creating, and whether I was comfortable writing more technical or specialist content.
I was then invited to an in-person interview at their office. As part of this stage, I completed a timed written task consisting of a 25-minute exercise to proofread a set piece of text and write a short piece of content promoting a trip to another country. This task was designed to assess attention to detail, writing style, creativity and adaptability.
Following the task, I took part in a 30-minute face-to-face interview. This covered my motivation for wanting to work at Air Charter Service, my ability to write legal and technical content, and my perspective on their current social media presence, including what I felt worked well and what improvements I would suggest. The hiring manager conducted the interview alongside a member of their existing copywriting team.
