My experience with the interview process at Actively Learn was that it was exploitative. After one 20 minute phone screen that felt fairly casual I was told I would be sent a performance task. This seemed reasonable until I saw that the performance task was actually three performance tasks that totaled up to about 12 hours of work. Part of this work was to be done directly into their online platform which set off some red flags to me. Was I doing work for them for free?
I was invited to one final zoom interview where I was washed to explain my thought process while I created content for 4 different pieces of curriculum. I developed full content as a step 2 of an interview process. After that zoom conversation I received an email that while they enjoyed getting to know me and were impressed with my work they would not be moving forward.
I can’t help think that they were accepting applications as a way to scam interviewees into completing work for free.
