I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Academy Sports + Outdoors in Sep 2014
Interview
I applied online and was contacted within a week. I was contacted by the retail manager and she did a screening over the phone, and then set up an in-person interview. I did my interview at 8:30 in the morning, so I was pretty tired when I got there, plus it was a Saturday. The interview lasted about 15 minutes and I was offered a job on the spot. I didn't have previous work experience, so she tailored the questions to fit my school and volunteer experience. All in all, it wasn't too bad, but I had to decline because of the hours they wanted me to work.

They kept talking about being a family and said that they didn’t want anyone to come in and disrupt their family. I had managerial training but did not want a management position. I told them twice that I just wanted an entry level job and not management. They told me they weren’t interested because they anticipated me wanting to be promoted quickly.
