I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AbbVie (Lake Forest, IL) in Dec 2013
Interview
Was called to interview and give a research presentation to the group associated with the position. They arranged flight, transportation, and hotel accommodations. the morning of the interview I gave a research talk for an hour and then I was passed along from group member to group member for 30 minute interviews. In total, I was interviewed by around 10 scientists of varying grades. there was a 2 hour lunch in between. After a full day of interviews I was taken back to the airport.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most questions were scientific, and relatively easy to answer. Maybe the most difficult question was during the HR interview when I was asked how much I expected to make.
Interview was rigorous with 5+ people doing a 1 on 1 interview along with a presentation. The interview was a mixture of fit for the role and prior experience on the job.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at AbbVie
Interview
Relatively easy in terms of interview questions and questions during seminar, but very slow. From start to finish probably took 3 months. Recommend trying to talk to hiring manager directly, maybe you can speed it up
