I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AbbVie (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2016
Interview
Setting up the interview was very unorganized. Everyone is working through everyone else's calendar. Took forever to get an in person interview set up. Once then got to the in person interview interview with 4 different people where they asked the same questions, so I was repeating myself over and over again. They were unorganized during the interview as well. They didn't seem to have a vision for the position or the company in general.
recruiter initially reached out via Linkedin for a phone screen. 2nd round is with HR and Hiring manager, 3rd round of interview w cross function and 4th round is a panel
The day before the interview I received a meeting cancellation for the interview with no explanation why. I contacted the recruiter (who was external to Abbvie) and they were unaware of the cancellation. When the recruiter got back to me an intermediary agency told them that Abbvie was looking to hire internally. The story isn't done yet though. The recruiter got back to me and said there had been a misunderstanding. The manager had a personal matter pop up and couldn't make it. The message was supposed to be that they were internally investigating a new interview appointment. So a second meeting was scheduled. I spent a lot of time researching Abbvie and preparing. Then ten minutes before the interview the recruiter called me and said that they had bad news. Abbvie had filled the position internally. Overall, it was truly a remarkable performance by the company. I hope they treat people better if they get hired.
