I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AMN Healthcare (San Diego, CA)
Interview
Was contacted by HR from an online job board. Had a phone interview and then an in-person interview with HR on location. From there, I met my hiring manager(s) and interviewed with them on specifics to the position.
Questions were normal (tell me your strengths/weaknesses, why do you feel you fit this role, what can you bring to the the role and team, etc.). There is a strong HR team, so you can expect they know what they are doing. However, if you bring up about advancement, you will hear the generic "Of course!", which as you work here becomes obvious that ladder climbing is very difficult, They promise internal promotion but don't act on it as often as they like to promote.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain how you would build a marketing plan for the company. (Reason it was difficult was it didn't feel in-line with the other questions asked of me; also, with minimal knowledge of the company's operations it was difficult to put together a large scale answer with minimal knowledge.)
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AMN Healthcare in Apr 2016
Interview
I applied online and was contacted within 2-3 days by email to set up a phone screen with the recruiter for 20 minutes. It was short and easy, just making sure I fulfill basic requirements. She wanted to determine salary range - I was slightly above their range, but I was made sure to let them know that I was open to a slightly lower salary if I perceived all the other benefits were in line with my expectations.
I was notified via email setting up another phone interview with the Marketing Manager a few days later. I had a 30 minute call with her. I thought it went well. We discussed the position requirements and I had all the necessary skills as well as exposure to the AMN brand through my current role in healthcare services. I hit it off with both the recruiter and the Marketing Manager. It seemed a shoe-in. I was surprised to receive an email a few days later notifying me that I was not chosen. I can only assume that it was because they didn't want to pay commensurate to my experience level and/or because I would need to relocate and they didn't want to wait.
