      Senior Data Analyst Interview

      Jun 27, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at AJ Bell in Jun 2026

      Interview

After a screening call, I started to understand some of the negative reviews I had read. The conversation was heavily focused on requirements, with repeated comments along the lines of, "You need to know this" and "You need to know that." It felt like they were looking for a very broad skill set from one person. The phrase that stood out most was that it is a "fast-paced environment" where everything needs to be done quickly. Combined with reviews mentioning understaffing, unrealistic workloads, micromanagement and burnout, it gave me the impression of a high-pressure environment where people may be expected to do more with less. I also asked whether this was a new role or a replacement and was told it was replacing someone who had left. Given everything I had heard during the call and read in the reviews, I concluded that the role was unlikely to be a good fit for me. A couple of weeks later, I noticed the role had been reposted on LinkedIn. Personally, I'm happy I wasn't progressed further, as I don't think the opportunity aligned with what I'm looking for in my next position.
