I originally applied for a position in September 2021 via 4G Clinical website and had my initial 30-minute phone interview with their in-house US based Talent Acquisition recruiter on September 23, 2021. I was then subsequently contacted by a Talent Acquisition coordinator and was asked to provide my availability to interview with a UK based Director. I promptly provided my availability with few different dates and UK time options to make it convenient for the director. That was the last time I had any contact with 4G Clinical in September 2021, and it seems they just disappeared with no response.
I was very surprised when I received an email on March 10, 2022. This time it was their in-house UK based Talent Acquisition specialist. The specialist seemed genuine and apologized for “dropping the ball” back in September 2021. The specialist asked If I was still interested, and I agreed to go through the hiring process. I was excited about the interview and took my time to research and learn about the technology they use and their RTSM /IRT process.
The first Interview was with a US based Manager on March 14, 2022, and It went well. I was told that the manager enjoyed speaking with me and was invited for a second interview with another US based Manager on March 16, 2022. I was told by the specialist that the second manager enjoyed speaking with me also and was asked to interview with a UK based Director on March 30, 2022.
The third and final interview with a UK based director and this is the same person that I was originally supposed to be interviewed by back in September 2021. I felt the interview was awkward. The interviewer looked very tired, yawned throughout the interview, appeared that the interviewer just woke up (It was 11:00AM in UK). The interviewer stated that had just returned from travelling to US and was tired. I seriously doubt that interviewer paid any attention to my answers except for few answers at the end of the interview. The interviewer did reply to my question indicating that the final hiring decision is made by the Interviewer, and unfortunately, too bad for me as the Interviewer was in no mood for interview (apparently very tired).
All in all, there were four interviews. Initial interview was audio and subsequent three interviews with Audio and Video on.
I believe both Second interviewer and especially Third Interviewer’s communication skills were lacking, and I believe it caused a disconnect, which makes a huge difference, when you have just 45 minutes of Interview time.
