- Sometimes those powerful internal tools for development just do not work, it's a rare thing but can be really frustrating
- Overall for Yandex it's a lottery: you either can get into a team where you have to work hard or can find a team where you may do almost nothing and be fine
- The company's recruitment process is slow and focused around algorithmic interviews and it seems that hiring mistakes happen often because of this (sometimes they hire people who are great at algo interviews but know nothing about the tech stack they need to work with and vise versa)
