      Pros

      Niall, my contact within the in-house recruitment team, was friendly, polite, and responded to my queries very quickly. The hiring manager was also excellent - I felt at ease throughout, and I was given the information I needed with confidence. It can feel difficult to ask for flexibility, but I felt that it was handled tremendously well. The entire hiring process offered great insight into the company culture and the team's professionalism. I am very much looking forward to joining Veolia.

      Interview process was fairly easy and quick. Did two interviews, i was informed of the outcomes as per the deadlines mentioned in the job description.

      Poor Recruitment Experience and Lack of Transparency

      Unfortunately, I didn’t experience any positives during the process.

      Cons

      The recruitment process was poorly organized and felt unprofessional. The assessment day lacked structure and didn’t seem like an effective or appropriate way to evaluate graduates. Onboarding was confusing and uninformative, with too many people from unrelated departments present — it made it impossible to understand the role I had applied for. Communication throughout was lacking; it was difficult to get in touch with anyone who could answer basic questions about the job. Last-minute onboarding arrangements required traveling to Birmingham, which wasn’t communicated beforehand. Reimbursement was only offered for coach travel, which would take nearly 10 hours from my location. The entire process felt like a waste of time and reflected poorly on the company’s organization and culture. I would not recommend applying for a graduate role here.

      From the beginning, the recruitment process was incredibly engaging and transparent. I appreciated how clearly the job description, role expectations, and company goals were communicated during the virtual assessment day. This helped me gain a thorough understanding of the position and how I could contribute to the team. I was impressed by the company's willingness to accommodate scheduling for the site tour. It was clear that Veolia respects candidates' time and commitments, which positively reflects the company's culture and hiring practices. This experience has further solidified my enthusiasm for joining their team, and I sincerely appreciate the effort invested in creating such a positive experience.

      Pros

      Some colleagues are supportive and friendly. Certain teams work well together despite management issues. The roles provide basic experience for the sector. Access to certain benefits.

      Cons

      No safeguarding in place, abusive behaviours are often ignored until formally reported. Upper management overlooks serious issues instead of being proactive. Managers are hired without proper checks into job history or performance. Hiring process is not impartial, decisions are made solely by managers. There is no independent recruitment team. No developmental or career opportunities unless you are in a back pocket. Personal and medical information shared across teams without consent, consistent GDPR breaches and submissions of such to the ICO. Lack of accountability or genuine apologies when breaches or mistreatment occurs. Dismissive and demeaning treatment of bottom level staff. Toxic culture is promoted and enabled, rather than resolved.

      The interview process with Veolia was exceptionally smooth and fast. Throughout each stage, the HR team provided consistent follow-up via both email and phone calls, ensuring clear communication and less stress for me. They were also more than happy to help if I needed help with anything. I particularly appreciated the absence of a pre-recorded video interview for this role. This demonstrated Veolia's commitment to engaging with candidates directly and investing time in meaningful interactions. The video interview with the hiring manager was a highlight; it felt more like a genuine conversation about the role rather than a conventional interview. Overall, my experience with Veolia's interview process was very positive and refreshing! Lastly, their office is magnificent.

      Great colleagues. You need them to go through the day.

      Cons

      A mess of an organization if not for the people. Every step of the process is overly complicated and workaround solutions seems to be a norm. No problem is ever solved. Very unhappy customers and high staff turnover.

      The process took 2 weeks, first with Teams call, and the second interview was face to face interview with the finance Manager and the Operations head, They made me feel relaxed and not tensed. The interview was purely competency based, and the HR was very responsive. The whole process was finalized within two weeks

      Pros

      I’ve really enjoyed the interviewing and onboarding process at Veolia. The supervisors and emerging talent team are so helpful and accessible. They’ve kept an open line of communication throughout the process and explained everything in detail. I love what the company stands for.
