What is the hiring process like at Universal Orlando Resort?

This is advertised throwout the hiring processs. This department is majority a 3rd shift, 10 hrs schedule. 1st and 2nd shift positions are rarely available and seniority based.

If you work at resorts, (the hub) you will be micromanaged and written up for minute issues. Seniority has no bearing whatsoever in the promotional process. My mangers were having intercourse with lower ranked team members then all of a sudden they were promoted for “hard work” These female officers were new hires and within a matter of months were my superiors. They hired their own siblings which is a conflict of interest being that their siblings were their superiors. If you’re a guy, you have to be a push over to get any type of promotion Some of the managers are humble and easygoing, however they are few and far between. One supervisor was dating one of my friends. I was removed from a post after the supervisor saw me speaking with a pretty girl. Some superiors will defend you, however most will not. Many supervisors in resorts conduct themselves as police officers and will talk to you like you’re in an interrogation room.

one of the biggest cons that I see is the constant onboarding that is done externally. i perceive that decisions being made by the same people that are supposed to be the ones in charge of your development are the ones that are hiring externally rather than internally to continue moving tms up through the ladder.
