- people are the best part of the job. colleagues are genuinely nice, caring and smart - company branding and reputation has been well established over the years - curriculum is really a few notches above other tuition centres - fulfilling to see the students grow and bloom with the right guidance - can cruise and still be rewarded

- top management unstable, changed too many times in the last few years. sudden disappearances of directors with no accountability. some of the new directors hired are also questionable (e.g. certain director walking around doing/saying inappropriate things) - excuse given for poor working conditions and forcing teachers to accept unfavourable treatment is always manpower shortage - leave situation is dismal - planning department treats teachers purely as resources and not people - focus of company has shifted drastically from providing the best education to making the most profit - company charges and earns so much but doesn’t reflect in staff’s bonus and increment amount - no 13th month also - morale low, colleagues always talking about feeling burnt out and wanting to quit - management seems happy to let the experienced loyal staff go and replace them with new cheaper staff who are not as experienced

- Little office politics and colleagues are generally helpful. - There is a separate team which plans the curriculum, so prep work is quite minimal especially if you have taught a couple of years. - Robust training system in place to help new teachers get up to speed.

- Work gets repetitive. - Kids are often times self entitled and parents have very high (sometimes unrealistic) expectations because of the fees and how we are marketed as a premium enrichment centre. - Manpower constraints and teachers having to work both weekends has been a perpetual pain point. - Need to plan for leave far ahead in advance.

Appraisal is random,,, although they will invent all sorts of rubrics and briefings to convince you otherwise. Scores are given out based on popularity / fear. Favouritism is rife. Appraisal scores can be easily tweaked backend. Staff are the least of their concern. Upper management are just trying to build net worth to sell the company off. Only one or two leaders are trying to help teachers out (to just ask questions). The rest are too scared and incompetent and voiceless. Work load increases, bonus decreases. Whole day inventing new ways to add to work load. Turnover is high. Staff who remain are either fresh grads or people who cannot find jobs elsewhere. Zero effort at retaining talent. $$$$ >>>>> everything else

Toxic environment. The management does not know what they are doing and they lack trust on each other and everyone else. Top management only wants to hire Yes Man and everyone is only working to please the BOSS just to save their rice bowls and not for the better of the students or company. The morale is low and turnover is high. Headcount freeze all the time and those working are just doubling up to cover the gaps. There are no happiness working for this organisation, only frustrations and toxic left. HR who should be protecting the staff interest and welfare, lacks integrity and joins in the office politics and gossips.
