      Does ScribeAmerica offer vacation time?

      ScribeAmerica reviews

I wish the recruiter had been honest.

      Telescribe
      Current employee
      Houston, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Work from home Depending on who you scribe for, some doctors are better than others.

      Cons

So many cons to note here. The pay is low. I was told by the recruiter that I got a $1 pay increase at a certain point that never came. When I asked later, they said that is not standard. So many egos in the middle management that are toxic. I've had some jobs that are doozies and this has been one of the very worst. There is no sick time, paid time off, or temporary disability benefits even. Evidence that I do not matter.

      Pros

      good healthcare experience, medical terminology

      Cons

Full time employees no longer receive paid time off

Fine to start, but don't stay.

      Medical scribe
      Former employee
      Portland, OR
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Docotrs teach you alot about thier subject. I worked in Opthamology and never the ER, so that could be a bonus to the are i was wokring in . Time flexability. You can roughly adjust your schedule and take chunks of time off. I was able to go on a month long vacation twice (obviously unpaid), but i still had a job to return to. You learn so much on the job.

      Cons

Can be very difficult and the slower the typing speed the harder it is. Each doctor can have different preferences and you are expected to know multiple of them. The dcotors can be in different locations, so it can be a drag to travel so much for work. Its impossible to get PTO.

Pay is awful and never any raises!

      Remote medical scribe

      Business outlook

      Pros

Good work environment. Co-workers are nice. Doctors are nice to work with. Only Monday thru Friday work. Good hours. Great medical experience. Entry level. Direct deposit bi-weekly. Family feel within the teams.

      Cons

Pay is a joke! Holidays are not paid. No PTO, we used to have that until they took it from us and replaced it with unpaid time off. If your provider is off for a week or two so are you and it’s unpaid! Benefits are expensive and lacking! I fully believe scribes will be done soon as AI is taking over this field fast! Which is scary to think daily this could be our last day bc I am sure they would tell us the day of.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are very happy to see that you are taking the opportunity to network and gain exposure for yourself in your medical facility. We appreciate hearing you enjoy working with the providers at your facility, and are happy to have such great partnerships where our scribes feel welcomed. This is why being a medical scribe is such a great experience as you really do get to see firsthand how medicine functions, which is something you really can’t get from other jobs or volunteer work. We feel that this is the pinnacle opportunity for our employees to really grow and prepare themselves when they go to Medical School/PA School/etc. We are also very happy to hear you enjoyed the flexibility that being a medical scribe can offer! We are proud of the fact that we are the industry leader and strive to maintain competitive pay in every market. I hope you are also taking advantage of some of ScribeAmerica’s other amazing benefits including employee discounts on things like computers, Kaplan prep courses, and even on Lyft. For any other topics you may have, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at HR@scribeamerica.com so that we can discuss.

No benefits (PTO, Holiday, Sick, or vacation time) for scribes. No tuition reimbursement. You are just a body that occupies a seat!!! No room for growth and advancement. Managers were young and inexperienced.

      Remote / Growth

      Senior chief telescribe
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      1. Remote work: This has allowed me to move around for different family needs without needing extended time off or seeking a new job. For this reason, I will always be grateful for the remote field. 2. Growth: Although there may not ALWAYS be growth opportunities within the team, if you put in the effort and communication, the team will do everything they can to recommend you for growth options (even if it's outside of their team) 3. Team work: Myself and the other Senior Chiefs have a close working relation and everyone is always willing to lend a hand - which makes you feel like a close family. 4. Higher level admin support: We don't often have to loop in upper admin on the day to day, but when we do - they are prompt, supportive, and reasonable.

      Cons

      1. Pay: Starting pay is not the best. However, you do save money being remote (no gas or stopping for morning coffee/lunch). - Med students: If you are looking to grow your knowledge in the med field, this is a GREAT way to do it. - Long term: If you are looking to be here long term, if you have patience and put in the effort, you will be recognized. 2. Evolving: The remote and medical field is revolving. I know a lot of people like routine with their day to day, but something we have to evolve with it which can at times become challenging. Others find it fun though!

      Medical scribe
      Current employee
      Philadelphia, PA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Clinical exposure. Relationship with doctors can possibly result in LORs. Learn some clinical skills.

      Cons

Horrific pay Nonexistent admin God awful pay 3-6 months between hiring and first shift. Sub-poverty line pay Admin only steps in to modify your schedule if you get close to qualifying for full time employee (benefits are expensive) The pay is just atrocious. The hiring standards are non-existent. I have trained so many people who just… ghost their shift, or have room temperature IQs because SA will take literally anybody. I cant afford groceries.
