Does Red Lobster offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Great pay and benefits package.

Cons

You will work all day long with no break. Not even five minutes off your feet. You get a free meal when you work but you won't have a break to eat it and you also don't want to put strain on your BOH staff to make it. No staff gets a break. It's frowned upon if you ask to step out for a smoke and when you do it's to run trash and not to actually have a moment to recoup. I've been working 14 hour days with no break, I get to smoke after 10 hours to run trash from the entire day.

Advice to Management

Watch. Learn. Listen. Don't let anyone into your personal life. Be prepared to be thrown into the deep end for them to see if you sink or swim and if they think you can captain the ship or not. They will tell you 45 to 50 hours a week. Your schedule is basically your start time and you will be working 60 or more hours per week. It is grueling work but the pay and benefits are great.

Great pay and benefits package.

Does Red Lobster offer dental insurance?

Pros

Flexible scheduling, cash tips, high turnover creates chances for advancement, short shifts, lots of marketing and coupons brings high volume of customers in

Cons

Can't keep workers because they treat them so poorly. High turnover leads to nobody knowing what they are doing. New people train new people. Servers are asked to bus tables, make salads, make deserts, and then clean the kitchen for sidework. Company uses server tips to pay hosts, bartenders, and do work that usually BOH employees would do in any other restaurant. Managers are often dishonest and disregard state laws (like paid sick leave in CO). They also will lie and throw employees under the bus in order to cover their own mistakes. Employees who question why or call human relations will be terminated for a variety of falsified reasons. They aren't afraid to make up something to get you fired. No conscience or moral code whatsoever! Saw it happen on a monthly basis, good workers leaving or getting fired for asking why the company runs so poorly. Restaurant crashes nightly because they try to run it with less employees than needed, so the employees that are there are asked to makeup the difference in work, but not paid for it. Required sidework for servers takes over an hour, but you are getting paid less than minimum wage for it. They won't let you work 35+ hours because they don't want to have to help pay for health benefits. They offer dental benefits, but don't tell you that they are not paying any of it, so you can actually go get the same plan/coverage for cheaper on the open market. Very deceiving! Managers act unprofessional, usually because they have little experience as a manager and are just former hosts/servers that needed benefits and the only way to get real benefits in the company is to become a manager. The pay for managers is low for this industry, so you get low quality managers that disrespect employees and leave often. In turn, the restaurant has a litany of problems because nobody knows what they are doing. Poor communication leads to constant employee/manager conflicts. Schedules are posted on Fri or Sat for the next week that starts on Sunday. Expired food is kept for days after expiration and employees are told to keep quiet about it. Very dishonest and unsafe. Employees are allowed to come in to work when not working, threaten other employees, then leave and keep their job. Sick employees are told they must still come to work, so the restaurant is a cesspool for illnesses. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!! Too many restaurant jobs to be treated the way Red Lobster treats it's employees!
