Pros
As of today, a full-time associate working for almost a year, and I get 176 hours of PTO based on new policies effective January 1st, 2024. 176 hours equals to 22 days per year.
The breakdown is the following:
5 holidays + 6 sick days = 11 days
11 personal days + 11 holiday/sick= 22 days total.
You can no longer accumulate sick time, they only give you 6 days max per year. After that you have to use short term disability, which Publix does pay for, but it only covers 70% of pay up to $716 per week for 12 weeks. A plus about this is that you can use your sick days as personal time as well, a d you might as well really.
All and all, if you are willing to work hard, you can go far in this company. Managers are only supposed to work 45 hours a week and some department managers at business stores make easily over $100,000 with their bonuses. Not bad for only 45 hours a week.
