Pros
- Great culture and wonderful colleagues across the board.
- Decent pay and benefits (thought banking and some other firms may pay higher).
- Great work-life balance 3 works from office mandatory, but line managers can be flexible if you need to work from home. work is usually 9-5, and some seniors encourage setting up diaries to say "my work hours are 9-5", and there is no obligation to work overtime or to attend meetings after hours or earlier than 9.
- no micromanaging - individuals are trusted to do their work and manage deadlines.
- strong culture of respect - rudeness is not tolerated by senior management and rude or inappropriate behaviour is dealt with quickly and fairly.
- holidays can be taken as and when you would like.
- Strong on diversity and inclusion and has various clubs and societies you can participate in - like, chess club, badminton club, basketball club, cultural groups for latinos, indians, etc etc.
Cons
- Promotions are hard to come by.
- Large and complex organisation, collaboration with colleagues can become tedious specially when you need to find someone who does something specific you need information about, and sometimes people can be non-responsive since BAU takes priority.
- some other firms may pay better
- social events are limited and few and far in between
- most individuals are over a certain age. limited socialisation outside of work since most prefer to go home after work to spend time with family.
