      A great place to work

      Pros

Within my part of the organization, leadership is transparent and approachable. I'm regularly given the opportunity to openly converse with more senior members of leadership. I can give honest feedback on decisions and share my ideas while seeing meaningful actions taken as a result. Overall compensation and benefits are great, but these can vary depending on the role. For the most part, salaries are good, most roles offer an annual performance tied bonus, there are stock options (either stock purchase plans, or equity grants), and private health care offerings (in the UK), to name a few. There are incentives to recognize and thank peers which helps enforce the companies values, which for the most part seem to be genuinely embraced within my team. I have a good work/life balance, which is reinforced by GoDaddy offering wellness days on top of annual leave. Working with teams around world, I often find myself needing to start work a little early or stay behind later, but supported by leadership who actively encourage you to balance this time.

      Cons

Communication across different departments isn't always as transparent or as easy as it could be, and while it's not a common problem it can be frustrating. Similarly, internal changes can happen with what feels like little or last minute communication, leaving teams scrambling for information or adding stress where it's not needed. Progression and role opportunities have slowed in recent months. Not every role has clear or consistent expectations on how they can work towards promotion, and new jobs have slowed for certain countries which leave some employees to feel trapped. This problem varies from location to location.

      Where careers go to die

      Pros

It's a stable and mature public company. You get to work from home and there aren't too many meetings.

      Cons

Pervasive cost-cutting especially since the start of 2024 has not only made it hard to be efficient, but also stifles career advancement. The only way to progress in your career is to leave. Long-time employees will probably stay because they have big stock grants waiting to vest, but for anybody else the pay is junk. The cost-cutting has gone way beyond what is reasonable. Tools keep disappearing even if they weren't that expensive to begin with. They want to get rid of Slack to save money. Slack. Maybe they won't, but it keeps getting floated as a credible idea so I wouldn't put it past them. Security is the #1 priority, but there is no foresight or long-term plan so the security edicts come in as a "Request of the Week" to be completed yesterday (usually we have 1-2 weeks). It kills morale because aside from providing no value to customers, we have to drop everything to get it done in time. It almost looks like they are trying to make the working environment unpleasant on purpose to create attrition so they can avoid the bad publicity of mass layoffs. Plus that way, the people who are left will be so demotivated that they won't expect raises.

      Pros

These pros don't apply to the customer support teams, those can be very very different and although I believe customer support here is better than most other call centers, you can't compare them to the rest of the teams. I started out in support, then worked in 2 other teams afterwards. Outside support there's: - great work life balance - loads of opportunity to grow - work environment is great. Most people are hard working but chill - and the wfh is definitely a plus - bonuses offered in company stocks after a certain time spent in the - good medical insurance company.

      Cons

      - culture is starting to feel more corporate than it used to - salaries are slightly under market value (usually the stock bonuses makes up for that) - some teams get denied the benefits and opportunities offered by the company (but I think this is manager related not the companies fault)

      Great place to work

      Business outlook

      Pros

This company is a great mix of big tech company and small enough to still feel connected to the mission and other employees. I think the compensation is fair for the job, stock options and yearly bonuses make a big difference in total comp. On-call rotation is fair and not overly demanding. Overall the company culture is very welcoming and open to new ideas and experiments.

      Cons

It seems like the company is not prioritizing effort to have teams meet in person (ever). There are some year end parties but it is company wide and only available to employees who are already in the area. If you are not in one of the major hubs do not expect to meet your co-workers face-to-face.

      Pros

      - GoDaddy does a great job supporting work/life balance—I’ve really appreciated the flexibility over the years. - The people here are smart, passionate, and genuinely care about what they do. - The company seems to be growing in a good direction overall, and the focus on culture and inclusion is real. - Pay and benefits are decent, and the day-to-day environment is pretty positive.

      Cons

      - There’s been a lot of change—sometimes it feels like we’re constantly shifting gears. - Career growth can be a bit of a question mark. It’s not always clear how to move up or around, especially in more niche roles. - Communication during big changes could be better—things can feel a little top-down without enough context.
