What is the hiring process like at GDS Group?

      Pros

Base Salary is high to lure people in

      Cons

Everything at GDS is built around lying. You are being actively misled during the hiring process. The first sentence of the script you read every day is a lie. Your manager will encourage you to input fake activity because it is important for the office to show fake numbers to hq. The morning meetings are built around celebrating the people with the best activity when it is OBVIOUS / SO AWKWARD that that person input a bunch of fake activity. The company is run by the founder who is the only person who makes any decisions. The group that lead the office have no power to make any meaningful change and they know it. The management style is actively celebrated as being Alec Baldwin's speech from Glengary. If you are 1 minute late (to work, from break, from lunch) be prepared to be yelled at in the middle of the sales floor. Extreme micro-management. Literally "what have you done in the past hour?" Stay away.

      GDS - Interview & Onboarding

      Pros

The interview process is very relaxed and simple. The interview was just more of a conversation type rather than being bombarded with tricky questions. Onboarding process was great with many fun activities and also a lot of knowledge to prepare you for the job. The culture is also great, everyone being a similar age. Fun incentives happen most weeks to try push everyone to get things done by the end of the week.

      Cons

Overall the whole process didn't have many cons. Whilst training more work with using the software's could have been useful, apart form that everything was enjoyable with a good balance of practical work an leaning.

      Pros

I joined GDS Group after completing my Master’s in Advanced Computer Science, and I have spent 3.5 rewarding years here as a Salesforce Developer. The entire journey has been incredibly positive, from the interview process to my day-to-day work. The recruitment and HR teams made the onboarding process smooth and efficient. The interview was well-structured, consisting of three stages, and the team was always available to address any questions or concerns. It’s clear that GDS hires talented individuals across all departments, creating a team that is driven and collaborative. While I wasn’t solely focused on Salesforce development, GDS gave me fantastic exposure to various applications and integrations with different platforms, broadening my technical skills. The work environment is one where growth and learning are actively encouraged. I’ve had great opportunities to enhance my career through team support and positive encouragement. One standout feature of GDS is the emphasis on wellness. The company organizes activities that help reduce stress and maintain focus, contributing to a more balanced work-life dynamic. Overall, GDS Group is an excellent place to work with a team that fosters growth and a positive attitude. If you’re considering joining, I highly recommend it without any doubts!

      Cons

While GDS encourages career growth, the opportunities for vertical growth in some departments can be limited depending on the team structure.

      Pros

The business has also invested heavily in the last 12 months in developing skill set, creating clear cut paths to progress through the business and improvements to process to ensure staff are paid better for their efforts. This has been a massive driver to into improving culture and employee well-being, something that from my perspective has worked. Opportunities to travel, win exciting trips and Great commission opportunities when you push yourself to work hard. As someone who's been on a number of trips both to our Summit events and through chairman's clubs, I've always felt incredibly lucky to experience things I normally wouldn't have the opportunity to do.

      Cons

Business is fast paced and can be demanding to those who aren't ready for it. You will need to work hard (like any other business) but this isn't anything out the norm.

      Pros

There are great people who work there. It is a very boiler room feel in the sales office which forces people to bond.

      Cons

Boiler room atmosphere with very little sales to back that up. My entire hiring class was fired before 6 months in the role. Its not a bad job to have in the meantime while you look for another one. Turnover is not weird there, random days they will just fire a handful of people. I had two colleagues one there for 17 years another for 11, both were fired without notice. They switched CEO's 2 times along with our entire product offering, but upper management said it was on the team for not putting the work in. There is a very weird hierarchy at this company where basically two people at the top hold all the power, and even the VP's have zero authority.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that a challenging sales environment can make work feel difficult, especially when you feel there is turnover and lack of clear direction. We strive to provide a supportive atmosphere where employees can grow and it's disappointing to hear you felt we did not meet your expectations. Regarding the issues you mentioned, we're actively working to improve our workplace culture and address concerns around management structure, communication, and employee retention. We value long-term feedback and are committed to making the necessary adjustments for a more stable and empowering environment for our teams.

The Last 30 Reviews Are FAKE! Please stay away!

A base salary ($80,000) and commission (if you able to trick a client into buying).

      Cons

ALL OF THE MOST RECENT 5 STAR REVIEWS in FEBRUARY 2024 ARE FAKE - STAY AWAY! I'm genuinely surprised that GDS hasn't been investigated & shut down. They try to run this place like the "wolf of wall street". You will make 200+ dials a day (no rhyme or reason, they just want you to dial) They force a script down your throat, you're in office 5 days a week to sit at your desk and make cold calls, you're forced into a schedule where your breaks are timed. They demoted their CEO, they fired their CRO 6 months into his new role, they hire convicted felons, they don't have an HR team, they don't have a legal team, they're involved in several law suits. Should I continue? I spent a few months here, and I wish that I remained unemployed. Please don't ever consider this place - They will lie to you until the day they terminate you. I'm begging, please stay away from this monstrosity.
