What is the salary like at Fortis Games?

      Fortis Games reviews

      For now, an amazing experience

      Sr game engineer
      Current employee
      São Paulo, São Paulo
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great salary, respectful and very experienced team, lots of space to deploy industry-standard solutions and to also create new stuff. Very result-driven and somewhat fun people. Lots of great tools are being used and the language choices and architecture of the games are pretty much on-spot. There are always things to improve but overall the code is easy to navigate and add to.

      Cons

Leadership is weird and somewhat far but I have experienced much worse in the past. There's also this feeling that Sr. Engineers are going to start giving out orders because of their seniority, as team leaders do sometimes, but for now, I have only experienced people who usually listen and suggest, instead of command. Myself, while being senior, didn't find anyone to be too reliant on their role to suggest a solution. The current Brazilian health benefits are very bad. All of the services are based in Londrina and there are very few good options for health care and dental care in other states. Health care is the special culprit here for it's the worst among all benefits. Also, the payment for the home-office benefit is weird. Home office stuff is paid every 3 months.

Good place but there are some red flags

      Software engineer
      Current employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Remote - Good salary and conditions - Games - Good growth plan - You can find very good people, professional, bright, kind

      Cons

Directors, VPs and high spheres compete with each other instead of collaborating. Some directly enter in conflict because they consider others departments will steal a piece of their cake. Lots of verticality and bureaucracy.

      Cons

      - No game published yet - Still with some start-up issues

      Pros

Fellow staff (sometimes), pay, remote opportunities

      Cons

So much to say, but I'll sum up: Meetings are too often and have a cult-like vibe. HR doesn't listen to anyone, and always throw employees under buses. No single game produced since it's creation. They throw money around like they have millions coming in from sales. The whole place feels....off. Constantly working, no time at home.
