      Pros

The interview process was quick and painless. My recruiter, Grace, was a delight to work with and always answered my questions quickly and was extremely knowledgeable. I was hired as a remote employee and received my equipment quickly and was able to reach IT to help in the setup.

      Cons

The only downside to remote work is receiving equipment that didn't work properly. My laptop had to be plugged in at all times or it would shut off. IT quickly determined the problem, and I received a new laptop within 2 days.

      Glorified mail/copy person

      Pros

Pretty much the same tasks everyday Not very busy at this location although at the one I began at more busy you work within a firm BUT you are not apart of the firm so people sort of know you but you aren't much more than office services The people I work with are nice and have done a nice job in teaching me as I came knowing nothing. I worked at one firm for epiq and if I had to stay there I probably would have quit as upper management is very intense for no real reason. It is not life or death for this job and I felt like she treated it that way There was a special case for some overtime but I do not see that continuing on in the future, One coworker told me in his year there this was the first time he had gotten overtime Onboarding process was through although somewhat long but at least remote Hiring process relatively easy, although the way they reach you is through your personal number for any number of things there doesn't seem to be a stop to that as you work within the firm. Higher management will call you on your personal number, I am not sure if that is normal but it does make me uncomfortable

      Cons

they will say it is good if you are wanting to go to law school (Others were also told this story) THIS IS NOT THE CASE. In that regard I feel lied to, I am essentially a glorified mail/copy person that also does a little bit of hospitality if you are sick and need to take time off within the first 90 days you get written up--NO EXPECTIONS No compensation for parking but this was made clear in the beginning that it would be the case Doesn't seem like there is much room for growth, Coworker said they asked for a raise and to be kept on a permanent position (as he was a floater) was told no and really wasn't given a raise (this guy was very good at what he did) ONLY AFTER he quit did they bombard him to get him to stay by saying he could stay at this firm permanently and would get a raise....I found this quite insulting I really haven't met anyone who has stayed much past 2 years They have not hired anyone for this position (entry level) and they have been looking for at least a few months

      Senior consultant

      Business outlook

      Pros

I have had a great experience in my first few weeks at Epiq Global. Some of the key points to raise: - Working with cutting edge technologies and technology partners - Global footprint therefore opening many opportunities - Autonomy and ability to shape your own career - Large client base to deliver value - Flexible working arrangements and great benefits - Huge opportunities to learn new skills and technologies that add value to Epiq's clients

      Cons

So far I have very little to highlight here. The only point that the hiring process took sometime. However this may be due to having been contracting in the past and the process is always much faster than landing a permanent role.

      Cons

I have not experienced any so far.

      Delusional Management

      Finance analyst
      Current employee
      Chicago, IL
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great, hardworking people work at this company that deserve better pay.

      Cons

Delusional management in finance team. Back in the day the finance team was given enough time to close the books each month until all transactions were complete. Through the years, upper management became greedy by wanting to know the monthly numbers quickly and lower management became impatient with the project managers not responding on time, so they decided to change the process by reducing the hours allowed to review the invoices each month taking away one day at a time until finally only giving the analysts less than 24 hours of business hours to complete thousands and thousands of transactions that get billed to clients. And to very, very picky clients and sales people. So, at the end of the day, the analysts in the finance team paid the price instead. Management used questionable ways to put pressure on you during month end to finish reviewing. Methods such as emailing entire teams with exclamation points, messaging you on Teams, calling you, etc. Creating panic, mistakes, and stress. At the end of the day, any mistakes were also put on the finance team analysts for not doing perfect work in such a short amount of time.

      Pathetic pay for freelancers

      Freelance transcriber
      Current freelancer
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Work from home, 24hr lead time for submitting transcription of 15-min audio file

      Cons

      - Unethical hiring policies where the remuneration rate isn't disclosed until you've completed three tests, 1h 40min in total - You're paid SGD13 for transcribing one 15-min audio file, which typically takes 2-3hrs (you can find better transcriber rates in the market) - Progression to higher pay typically takes more than a year, and is entirely on the manager's discretion based on your skills. They are not transparent with that. - You're required to commit to 14 days of uncompensated training - SGD140 will be deducted from your pay for purchasing a foot pedal - If you fall victim to such undercutting, please be aware that you're but one of the many in their pool of freelancers. So exploitation won't stop until their rates are made public.
