Pros
Good discount on shoes and a couple free pairs a year.
Cons
Working at Doc Martens was a mixed experience due to intense pressure for relatively low pay. Sales Assistants would bring in £6000 each a day, yet management remained unsatisfied despite consistent efforts. The practice of publicly displaying underperforming employees (who may have only missed a target by £100 or so) with a red sticker on a notice board which the employee had to place there themselves was both degrading and embarrassing, particularly for older staff members. This approach created a competitive and toxic atmosphere rather than fostering a positive work environment. Despite the opportunity to showcase iconic products, the oppressive conditions and questionable practices made the overall experience less than satisfactory. This is all especially disturbing considering this brand supposedly champions and values the working class. Feels more like appropriation to me.
