What is working from home like at Consumer Cellular?

Consumer Cellular is a great place to work! There are so many opportunities for promotion and growth. The work culture is great here. The scheduling and work from home options support a great work life balance.

As with any job, there are tough days. There are days when our systems experience issues and the call volume is high. Thankfully, our teams support each other through these difficult times.

Unrealistic call handle times Continued changes to the way things are done can be a bit confusing after a while Was told work from home was available last year but still have yet to get that opportunity

There is a lot of growth opportunity with supervisors and managers who provide the tools and encouragement you need to exceed in whatever step you are in, in your career journey with Consumer. There are call center, work from home and retail opportunities in some states.

I was told during the hiring process that I will receive our work from home equipment after the training but once we were in training I was told that I have to wait 90 days after training to quality for remote work. This is not what I agreed to, seems to be there needs to be better communication within the company.

I like having the flexibility to work from home and they don’t require me to be in office ever.

Hard to get a straight answer sometimes. Typically it depends on who you ask.

It’s hard work helping people understand basic phone skills while they think you turned their phone off magically somehow.

It was during early covid that I started working here and they would not allow us to work from home. A lot of older employees should have been allowed to work from home, especially when people started dying every day. No caring environment here. Avoid like the plague!

Work from home full time. Benefits are about the same as you would get with any other major company. Managers were all very good.

They will never give you a cost of living raise - The tools constantly go down which cost you money - There was a one second delay on nearly every call which makes it impossible to talk to someone - They snuck in an amendment on the last policy statement that reads you will not get your commission unless you are employed by CCI at the time the paycheck is issued but the commission runs FOUR WEEKS BEHIND so I got robbed over $900. No one ever reads those statements so it came as a shock after I resigned - Nearly every customer is over 70 and senile.
