Supportive team but unrealistic workload and expectations
Pros
I worked with a great team and genuinely enjoyed my coworkers. Everyone was supportive, and the relationships I built there were one of the best parts of the job. The company also offered paid holidays and time off, which I appreciated.
Cons
The workload and expectations often felt unrealistic given the compensation. The hours were frequently long, often stretching from 8 AM to 6 PM, which made maintaining a healthy work-life balance difficult. One of my biggest frustrations was that the physical demands of the role were not clearly communicated during the hiring process. The amount of physical labor required was much greater than I expected. As the company continued opening additional stores, responsibilities and workloads increased, but compensation did not seem to keep pace with those added demands. Many employees were expected to take on more work without corresponding increases in pay or recognition. I often felt that the effort and contributions of employees were undervalued despite the growing expectations. I also felt the vacation policy was restrictive, as additional vacation time was only awarded after five years of service.
