Pros
-There’s a strong manufacturing based knowledge embedded into the company. -Although some process improvements are required, facilities/systems infrastructure are able to support a significant operation. -Company structure allows for employees to receive direct exposure across different specialized areas, where typically this is not viable in larger pharma settings. -Majority of coworkers were easy to get along with and often willing to chip-in to help out on others’ projects/workload. -Management/ownership did a good job at resolving disputes among employees. -Management (ownership) may seem intimidating but they are approachable and personable; at the end of they day they want whats best for the company (and have the most on the line), so given situations/interactions will inevitably come off as tense. -The way certain things are done are undoubtedly a bit unconventional, but by no means does that makes Altaire a terrible place to work. If you can learn to adapt and make the most of your opportunity, it’s an enjoyable place to work more often than not.
Cons
-Lack of appropriate segregation of duties between ownership and operational management in numerous areas. Often leads to conflict, confusion and ambiguity in priorities and direction. -Some functions were managed by personnel not adequately qualified. Leads to frustrating interactions when people are simply guessing what to do.
