I have been working at Texas Instruments

Pros

Texas Instruments owns fabs and thus, is likely to be around for a long time. The people who work here are smart.

Cons

They have a tendency to abandon ship when they aren't the best solution in the market place, meaning if your product isn't growing faster than the competition they will just lay you off rather than try and solve the underlying problem.

I worked at Texas Instruments full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits, good opportunities to move between groups.

    Cons

The company has been getting smaller, so there are fewer stable opportunities. Also there is a major youth movement, so it's more difficult to get in and to advance if you are over 35.
