Good company to work for (until 2011)

Pros

I had been employed in Moscow office of ValueCommerce for 2 years. It was all about nice people to work with, having fun to solve challenging issues in production environment.

Cons

At that time I did not see any big cons about working at that company. Just one - be aware of multi culture in that company. Japanese culture is not the same as Western culture.

Pros

Very nice company to work at. Some very bright people here. Very lucrative business. Top management changed in 2012, including the CEO, moving from an essentially foreign expat culture to a more Japanese-rooted culture (the company was started by an Australian expat).

Cons

With the shutdown of the offshore center in Manila, Philippines in 2012, and the dismissal of most of its expat managers, the company lost most of its cosmopolitan culture and vibe.

Not bad

Pros

If you are working in main office in Tokyo - everything looks ok: - nice new office - good environment - friendly co-workers Offshore offices a more strestfull.

Cons

Company has issues with management, too many politics and misscommunications between departments. Folks employed long time ago doing nothing and basically promoted for nothing. Project management is very bad, in most cases they don't understand anything about the business.
