Pros
The company promotes meaningful values around safety, respect, dignity, and inclusion, and offers solid benefits and growth opportunities
Cons
In my experience, there is a significant gap between company values and how they are practiced within certain teams.
The management style I experienced was highly micromanaging, with frequent nitpicking and overly critical feedback. Rather than enabling ownership, this created an environment of constant scrutiny. Over time, this had a direct negative impact on my confidence, performance, and willingness to take initiative.
There was also a pattern of comparing team members and uneven distribution of recognition and opportunities, which created a strong perception of favoritism. This undermined trust within the team and affected overall morale.
A particularly concerning aspect was the lack of psychological safety. Providing upward feedback did not feel safe, as responses were often defensive. This discouraged open communication and made it difficult to address issues before they escalated.
The cumulative effect was a work environment driven more by fear than motivation, leading to disengagement and reduced productivity. This type of environment risks not only employee well-being but also retention of high-performing talent.
