Pros

Excellent benefits, great opportunities for medical savings, employee discounts to local and chain stores/restaraunts, matching 401k and pension

Cons

I've been a part of two departments within JPMC. The first one was run terribly. The employees were treated like 10 year olds. You could go for weeks without having an independant thought in your head. Then my second department was run completely different. Lenient arrival, lunch, and departure times. Occasional free lunch. Managers would ask how your day is going (you don't appreciate this unless you've experienced the opposite).

Pros

If you're lucky location and team wise, you will be successful and quickly get promoted to the next position. However, because this role is a role that works very closely with the Private Client Banker, if you have a bad one, your entire career and pay will decline or be stagnant. In general the pay is good, no other bank pays like Chase, the base is mid but the incentive plan is literally insane, you WILL make money. Work life balance could be better, but again, I personally had bad luck with my team so I was slaved and taken advantage of. I would definitely recommend this place because I am fully aware I could have had a better team and saw a lot of other peers truly happy with their teams.

Cons

In my case, I had external management and I hate managers who have never been in my position or simply do not know how to teach you at all because they don't have the background and do not know the system at all. I had a very offensive ASM, like personally offensive and I didn't appreciate that, until my last day where I was pretty much kicked out of the branch they were like that. Also, no matter what, managers are not your friends, had multiple times personal information I shared used against me to ''perform'' like the benefit of tuition need, personal plans, things of that nature. Keep it professional and classy, do not engage on that.
