Pros
In the national organisation, there is a lot of conversation about staff wellbeing and having a collaborative culture. Even if not all of the senior leaders are on board, there are teams that try to make this happen, so if you're lucky enough to be in the right team they will be friendly, helpful and considerate. It's generally a nice place to work, with flexible working, good tech and a good work environment.
Cons
Day to day there's a lot of frustration with projects being delayed and there not being enough communication about why. Usually, it's because there's an argument happening somewhere in the senior team, including the Executive Team, about how much we can say, and they're blocking each other. The lack of consensus means when a decision is finally made, staff have to scramble to put it into action at short notice. This happens constantly and is frustrating.
It's also a place where people's friends tend to get promoted, despite all the talk about diversity and fair recruitment.
