Pros

meet great people who are passionate about education and have great attitudes. You truly get to make an impact in people's lives and help them to make tough decisions about school.

Cons

Sales environment with lots of focus on numbers rather then what may be best for students. If your numbers are not high then you may lose your job

Pros

The best university to work for And I have worked for several. It treats the instructors equally as they do would a professor.

Cons

There is some pressure to make sure that the students learn, but that is the job anyway so it goes with it

Pros

Online, so you can work anywhere. Also, it's how I learned to teach online, so the training is/was pretty good.

Cons

Many. 1. The pay is ridiculously low (I was at the higher end at $22.13 per hour for approximately $1700 per five week course.). Every year more and more is asked of Associate Faculty, but there are no plans to raise pay. I was there for 12 years and started out at about $1500 per course. 2. You are micromanaged. It truly is a dead end job. 3. Many of the students are there to collect the financial aid. More than once, I was asked to give a student an incomplete so they wouldn't lose their housing. 4. Upper management has no idea about how the school actually operates.
