Description Founded in 1948 by Gary Vermeer in Pella, Iowa, Vermeer Corporation began with a simple goal: to make a better mechanical wagon hoist. That spirit of innovation and problem-solving still drives us today. Over the decades, we’ve grown from a small family business into a global leader in industrial and agricultural equipment, with more than 3,500 team members serving customers in over 60 countries.
Vermeer manufactures the iconic yellow iron seen on industrial jobsites and farm fields around the world. Our equipment helps customers tackle tough jobs in industries such as underground construction, surface mining, tree care, recycling, forestry, and agriculture. Whether it’s trenching for fiber installation, grinding organic waste, or harvesting hay, our machines are built to perform and built to last.
We’re proud to be family-owned and -operated, with a culture rooted in our 4P Philosophy: principles, people, product, and profit. This philosophy guides how we treat others, how we build quality equipment, and how we give back to our communities. At Vermeer, we put people first—whether it’s our customers, our team members, or our neighbors.
Our mission is simple but powerful: We equip people to do more. That means more innovation, more impact, and more opportunity. We’re committed to safety, sustainability, and developing a workforce ready for the future. From engineering and manufacturing to sales and support, every role at Vermeer contributes to something bigger.
We believe in rolling up our sleeves and digging in. We believe in building a workplace where people are empowered to grow, collaborate, and make a difference. And we believe that when we work together, we’re Equipped to Do More.®
