Electronics Engineering Technologist

The Opportunity:
Reach Systems, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of underwater camera systems and remotely controlled winches, is seeking applicants for an Electronics Engineering Technologist/EIT.
This is a hands-on position reporting to our PhD Electronics Engineer, and working closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and assembly personnel. Duties and responsibilities include:
- assisting with assembly of prototypes and standard products, including sub-assemblies, tether cables, subsea cameras, cable winches, and custom-engineered robotics
- testing products against quality standards
- troubleshoot electronics products and systems to ensure compliance with performance and quality standards
- creating new wiring diagrams and updates per technicians' redlines
- designing and developing digital and analog circuits, from concept through to schematic and PCB design
- Assisting the engineering team, as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency with soldering, wiring, and general electronics assembly.
- Experience with Altium Designer and KiCAD are an asset.
- Electronics Engineering diploma or degree program, or equivalent.
- Skills in electrical assembly, including evaluation of proper soldering, wire routing, and assembly techniques
- Computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications
- Design skills and experience
- Skills and experience in debugging electrical systems
- Basic skills in tool and equipment use and ability to build prototypes
- Attention to detail
- Analytical and problem solving skills

- Familiarity with documentation and appreciation of its importance
