Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT professional to modernize and extend our enterprise manufacturing ecosystem. This role focuses on integrating and enhancing our Epicor CMS ERP (running on IBM iSeries with DB2), supporting legacy application modernization, and developing business intelligence solutions that improve visibility across production and quality operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Enhance and support the Epicor CMS ERP ecosystem, including integration with KEPWare Manufacturing Suite, Zebra RFID printers, and external finance PHP applications.
• Design, migrate, and maintain an archival database solution to offload legacy IBM DB2 data while maintaining data integrity and accessibility.
• Modernize existing Microsoft Access/VBA applications into web-based client-server solutions using open-source databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Develop manufacturing intelligence dashboards, KPIs, and data capture tools integrated with CMS and production systems.
• Collaborate with production, accounting, and IT teams to design data flows that improve reporting, efficiency tracking, and automation.
• Maintain technical documentation for custom CMS modifications, APIs, and new integrations.
• Evaluate and apply open-source tools and frameworks to ensure cost-effective modernization.

Expected Deliverables (First 12–18 Months)

• Operational external data archival database with a functional web-based query interface.
• Converted and fully deployed web-based replacements for legacy MS Access applications.
• Production and quality BI dashboards capturing live operational data from CMS and KepWare.
• Documented system architecture, integration points, and standard operating procedures.
• Established maintenance plan for ERP customizations and related applications.

Required Skills

• ERP Integration Experience: Working knowledge of Epicor CMS or similar manufacturing ERP systems, including configuration and database access (DB2 backend).
• Database Administration & Design: Skilled in relational database design, schema migration, and query optimization (DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Programming Languages: Proficient in Python and PHP for application integration, data automation, and API communication.
• Web Application Development: Familiar with modern frameworks (Flask/Django, Laravel, or similar) for internal web tools and dashboards.
• Linux Server Management: Ability to maintain, deploy, and troubleshoot PHP and database applications in a Linux environment.
• Manufacturing Data Integration: Understanding of industrial data integration protocols (OPC via KepWare, PLC interfacing, RFID workflows).

Preferred / Highly Valuable Skills

• IBM i / DB2 Proficiency: Experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) operations, SQL for DB2, and data migration between systems.
• Experience modernizing legacy Microsoft Access or VBA applications.
• Front-end development knowledge (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, basic UI/UX for internal web tools).
• Familiarity with Epicor CMS database schema or customization scripting.
• Experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) flows and BI tools such as Grafana, Metabase, or Power BI.
• Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration.
• Familiarity with version control (GitLab, GitHub) and DevOps principles.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in IT development or integration roles supporting ERP or manufacturing systems.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, production IT, or MES environments is an asset.

AI & Automation Tools Familiarity

We encourage leveraging AI-assisted development and automation tools to accelerate integration, modernization, and coding efficiency. The ideal candidate should have familiarity or hands-on experience with:

• AI coding assistants or prompt-based programming tools (e.g., Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT / GPT models, or GitHub Copilot).
• Using AI for code review, debugging, data transformation, documentation automation, and workflow enhancement.
• Applying AI or machine learning tools in practical settings—such as anomaly detection in production data, intelligent reporting, or auto-mapping legacy database structures.
• Understanding how to securely and ethically integrate AI tooling within enterprise and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to evaluate emerging AI-driven integrations that enhance ERP efficiency, system connectivity, or BI data quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
