We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented OSP (Outside Plant) Construction Manager to lead and oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of underground and aerial fiber optic infrastructure projects. • This is a full-time on-site role as a Fibre OSP Construction Field Manager (Field) in Stouffville, ON. The construction manager is responsible for several teams/job sites and oversee the daily construction activities related to fibre optic network infrastructure projects.

Major responsibilities are to manages and coordinates the construction of fiber optic infrastructure including but not limited to:

• Planning: Manages, plans, and organizes fiber optic construction projects
• Supervision: Supervises and guides several foremen on different job sites.
• Coordination: Work with project coordinators to ensure that work is completed efficiently and according to project plans
• Compliance: Ensures that work adheres to Customer, Company and industry/Customer standards. This includes but not limited to site meeting or inspection with client inspectors/project managers/Design managers.
• Safety: Ensures that work is carried out safely by following HSE policies, DPP, traffic control etc.
• Support: provide technical support or advice for design teams from construction point of view.
• Documentation: Completes records for site reports

Some other responsibilities of a construction site supervisor include:

Helping project managers plan work, Managing orders and deliveries of construction materials, Organizing staff work schedules, and Attending site management meetings and perform pre-construction site walk &redline, discuss solutions/deficiencies/standards/specification with clients. Etc.

Qualifications

A fiber optic construction manager should have advanced knowledge of outside plant construction functions for both copper and fiber. They should also be able to read construction drawings and the following qualification requirements:

• Experience in fibre optic network construction for 3+ years such as drilling, Vac, Civil, locating, Aerial.. ;
• Experience in supervising 10-20 people or 2-4 foremen in fibre construction;
• Expert in HSE, DPP and Traffic control such as book 7,
• Heavy Equipment operation skills such as HDD, Vac, Plow, Mini-Ex.
• Quality Control expertise
• Strong Communication skills
• Background in Civil Engineering is a plus
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Stouffville, ON : reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
• Schedule:
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Leadership: 2 years (required)
• Telecommunications Construction: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Class G Licence (required)
• Class AZ License (preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
