Roles and responsibilities:
· Interpret and review technical information from P&IDs, line lists, general arrangement drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor documentation.
· Develop detailed 3D piping models based on P&IDs, design standards, and best engineering practices, coordinating closely with Bunch’s structural design team.
· Import and integrate field 3D scan and total station data into the model workspace to verify dimensions and existing tie-in points.
· Perform clash detection and resolve interferences between piping, structural, and mechanical elements.
· Generate piping isometrics, spool drawings, and material take-offs (MTOs) from 3D models for fabrication and construction.
· Prepare 2D deliverables such as plot plans, PFDs, P&IDs, and other project drawings in coordination with Bunch’s engineering team.
· Ensure drawing quality, consistency, and adherence to company CAD standards and project specifications.
· Support field verification, redlining, and as-built drawing updates as required.
Requirements:
· Training in Mechanical Design or a related technical discipline with 5-10 years experience.
· Design experience with CADWorx, Navisworks, and AutoCAD Plant 3D
· Resolve design problems independently.
· Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
· Excellent communication and organization skills. Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
· Driven to deliver high quality designs and self-motivated.
Additional information:
This is an in-person role from our downtown Calgary office. Occasional travel to other Alberta offices may be required from time to time.
