Visual Merchandiser

As a Visual Merchandiser, you'll be responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining impactful furniture and accessory displays while collaborating closely with store leadership, sales teams, marketing, and operations. You'll help ensure our showrooms remain fresh, visually compelling, and aligned with current product strategies, promotional initiatives, and brand standards.
This role combines creativity with hands-on execution. From floor planning and product placement to accessory styling and promotional displays, you'll help create beautiful spaces that drive customer engagement and maximize product visibility. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to adapt to changing priorities will contribute directly to the success of our stores and the overall customer experience.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute visually compelling furniture and accessory displays that reflect La-Z-Boy's brand standards and design vision
- Style and maintain showroom vignettes to create welcoming, aspirational spaces that inspire customers
- Ensure all displays remain clean, organized, fully accessorized, and customer-ready at all times
- Maintain accurate product labeling, pricing, and presentation standards throughout the showroom
- Walk store floors with the Merchandising Manager to develop weekly merchandising plans and priorities
- Identify opportunities for product placement, floor optimization, and display enhancements
- Execute floor plans and showroom layouts using current merchandising standards and product strategies
- Coordinate product transfers and placement to maximize visibility, turn rates, and marketability
- Implement floor space plans for core product lines, promotional items, and clearance merchandise
- Support promotional changeovers and new point-of-sale (POS) installations
- Ensure accessories, artwork, rugs, lamps, and décor are properly displayed and integrated into showroom presentations
- Assist in maintaining visual merchandising supplies and materials required for display execution
- Partner with store managers, sales teams, marketing, and operations to ensure visual consistency across locations
- Communicate merchandising plans, product movement, and display updates effectively
- Support training and coaching of store teams on visual presentation standards and maintenance expectations
- Resolve visual presentation concerns professionally and proactively
- Monitor incoming merchandise and prioritize floor placement based on showroom needs
- Coordinate and execute product transfers between locations when required
- Conduct inventory verification and periodic counts as needed
- Report damaged products and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions

What You’ll Bring
- Post-secondary education in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Decorating, Retail Design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience
- 2–5 years of visual merchandising experience in furniture, retail, home décor, or a related environment
- Strong understanding of space planning, product presentation, and visual merchandising principles
- Experience executing floor plans and managing showroom layouts
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments
- Supervisory, coaching, or team leadership experience is considered an asset
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and merchandising tools
