The Opportunity

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Construction Estimator to lead the estimation process for large-scale construction projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids. This role requires a strong background in construction estimating, project management, and negotiation, with proficiency in tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid. You will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to deliver precise cost assessments and support successful project execution.

Responsibilities

- Lead full-cycle estimating for ICI renovation and alteration projects ($250K – $10M+)
- Develop comprehensive estimates including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Utilize Bluebeam, Planswift and other software to prepare detailed bid proposals
- Analyze drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis
- Collaborate with project teams to develop budgets and schedules
- Manage subcontractor and supplier pricing and negotiations
- Lead value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
- Prepare and present bid documentation to stakeholders
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and labour rates
- Build, mentor, and manage an estimating team
- Establish estimating procedures, templates, and best practices

Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience in ICI construction estimating
- Strong background in renovations and alterations (institutional experience preferred)
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Planswift, and related tools
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costing
- Proven negotiation and project management skills
- Ability to lead teams and develop estimating departments
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
