As a Bakery Clerk at Ucluelet Co-op, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized service to our valued members. We prioritize establishing strong relationships with our members and fostering an environment that encourages their continued patronage. We are seeking a positive, dependable individual with a professional approach and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods
• Maintain and display all types of bakery products according to standards
• Properly maintain and clean equipment regularly.
• Be familiar with and adhere to all sanitation and personal hygiene policies of the Co-op and government regulations.
• Advise the manager when orders for replenishment of inventory are required and ensure proper mark-down reports
• Perform receiving duties when required
• Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
• Be dependable on all scheduled shifts
• Provide outstanding courteous customer service
• Be familiar with and adhere to all Ucluelet Co-op policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous food preparation/ bakery experiences an asset
• Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

Working Conditions:

• Flexibility in scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
• Physically demanding tasks including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional stair climbing

Wage: $19.15 – $23.51 per hour, based on experience.
