Position Summary for Full-Time Sonographer – Credentials in Vascular, NT (eFTS), Breast and MSK an Asset,
Barclay Diagnostic Imaging (BDI), which is located at 589 Lake Street, St. Catharines, provides diagnostic imaging services to the St. Catharines, Beamsville, Thorold and Greater Niagara community. Our clinic offers services in X-Ray, Mammography, Bone Mineral Density, and in both General and Vascular Ultrasound. BDI is also proud to be a centre affiliated with the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP). Our primary hours of operation are Monday to Friday. The BDI team includes hospital-based Radiologists with subspecialties in Women’s Imaging (ob/gyn, breast imaging), Musculoskeletal Imaging, Vascular Imaging and other areas of expertise. The current position is for full time, based on the applicant’s credentials. Pay rate commensurate with D.I. experience and credentialing through Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS. The full-time position offers flexible hours to accommodate the successful candidate.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited post-graduate ultrasound programme recognized by Sonography Canada and/or CPSO
- Active member of Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) as well as CMRTO (College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario – required by January 1, 2019)
- CRGS, with associated RVT designation, an asset as are any additional designations (Breast, MSK, NT)
- A minimum of 2 year of experience in IHF clinical environment is preferred
- Experience in D.I. clinic management (staff scheduling, P.M. maintenance, CPSO assessments, staff orientation and training in new skill set, etc.) consideration in pay remuneration
- Proof of professional liability insurance required
- Evidence of ongoing continuing education to expand current skill set
- Competent computer skills, including proficiency in RIS and PACS applications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently and as a member of the team
- Compliance with Public Health Ontario related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required by CMRTO, CPSO, MOH, etc.
- Proficiency in a 2nd language other than English an asset
Duties:
- General Ultrasound (Abd, Pelvic, Ob/Gyn, Small Parts etc.) (proof of credentialing required on application)
- If additional credentialing in Breast, MSK, NT - then associated procedures
- Asset in consideration for hire - Vascular ultrasound (RVT credential required) but will work with employee in obtaining RVT credentialing through CME and Clinical Application Training
- Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organization and time management skills are required
- Perform independently within team environment with close liaison with specialty team of Radiologists and peers
- Flexibility with hours to accommodate clinic hours of operation
