Level up your career as a: Summer Student Production Labourer – Day Shift Monday-Friday

This is a summer student role supporting the Production department. The Summer Student Production Labourer will provide production support in different areas throughout the shop, which may include assisting operators, material handling, moving parts, unloading machines, safe overhead crane and forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Provide general production support in different areas of the shop as required.
• Assist operators with loading, unloading, moving parts, and other tasks needed to maintain production flow.
• Handle, move, pick, stack, and store materials safely using appropriate equipment, which may include overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Complete general shop duties such as housekeeping, organizing materials, packing, strapping, or preparing items for shipping as needed.
• Safely use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices when required.
• Support the Production team with other duties as assigned based on shop needs.

Qualifications:

A combination of education and experience will be considered. Students are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet all of the qualifications listed below.

• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic manufacturing principles is an asset.
• Experience using measuring devices, such as tape measures, is an asset.
• Experience operating a forklift or skid steer would be considered an asset.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Good attendance and punctuality.
• Interest in learning more about a career in manufacturing.
