If you’ve made it to this stage, you’ll be invited to complete a one-way interview. The questions are all really repetitive and you can basically know what they’re going to ask based on Glassdoor. These are a few which I identified: What would you ask our CEO? List 5 interests and hobbies. If we were working together on a long project and it comes to the end after 3 months, what would we know about you? Explain a complex concept assuming the person you are talking to knows nothing about it. (In a simple way) Please explain one of your hobbies and why it's your hobby. Talk about an interest that you have mentioned in your application forms and how did it come to you? Discuss a concept you learned at school? Why do you want to work for this company? Prepare your answers! The questions are usually the same, so it is wholly worth it. A few rules about one-way interviews: -Please use a good camera. Borrow your friend’s laptop, iPad or buy a Webcam. This genuinely does help. Make the camera eye level, and wear something professional. I wore a collared shirt without a tie. -Setup your room well. You should be facing natural light and have a very neat background. They don’t want to see your bed in the background. Rearrange your room if you don’t have a white background already. -Smile when the camera switches on! I’m not sure if they use AI or people to review the footage (probably both), but smiling when the camera is on shows that you’re confident and excited to answer their questions. -If you’ve prepared something, don’t get caught up on saying the exact right thing. They don’t care what you say, I mean do try say something meaningful (you probably will be because you’ve prepared) but they’re more looking to see whether you can talk naturally, won’t get too flustered, and are generally excited about Newton. -Use a prop, do a magic trick, be excited – make yourself stand out a little bit! Get to know Newton.
