I've started to take on a more lead product management and design role that has required me to learn Jira for scrum planning. One of the issues I am facing with our dev leader is standardizing our document taking process so status updates are clear and project timelines are transparent. What are some ways I can promote a better project management culture across departments?

Are salaries dropping? I have been sitting at $75 an hour for the last couple years. I am tired of being a contractor and would take a hit to pay for a FTE role. I have 15+ years experience. I keep getting calls from recruiters, excited to talk to me, then saying things like "Oh.. The max for this role is 120k per annum" or "But you'd take $50 per hour right?" The tone switches to angry or incredulous when I say "I am not willing to take that large of a pay cut." Is this normal?

If i were to switch to any other field after being in product for 4 years now, what other roles/jobs can I explore? I do like the role and also the potential of good pay as I progress in product but the current tech market and corporate culture is testing me. The overwork, execution and delivery on day 1, no onboarding and politics isn't worth it.

Are all companies in the US just all shitshows right now? Where do you work where you're actually delivering value? I'm starting to get seriously sick of how bad the work environment is here and considering leaving all together. I'm in the Midwest, and considering a move to WA or NY but if all companies I've spoken to in the past year (enterprise) are all going through the same crap, I wonder if it's really worth it still to bolt and leave. I love my city, but Im not married to it
