SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager – Foodservice Branded Potatoes, the individual will manage and support the US and Canadian Foodservice Potato portfolio focused on McCain’s branded conventional fry and specialty items. The Brand Manager will act as a strategic partner with sales, innovation, and other functional groups with the goal of growing our US and Canadian branded potato category. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial acumen, dynamic communication skills, and a passion for food. The ability to create and present inspiring brand propositions through storytelling. Responsibilities include P&L management, Performance Monitoring, Data Analysis, Demand Forecasting, Launch Planning, Sales Tool Development, and Budget Ownership.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as category expert understanding the industry, the market, the customer, and the competition
  • Manage daily portfolio activities for US and Canadian McCain branded and private label portfolio
  • Prepare business analysis and reporting utilizing internal and external data (e.g. NPD,Datassentials, Technomic)
  • You own your business, identify/assess portfolio risks, and set strategies in the annual plan for long-term growth
  • Commercialize portfolio renovation and innovation (pricing, targets, branding, volume commitments, etc.)
  • Forge relationships with Sales to provide key input to impact Go-to-Market strategies and plans
  • Initiate and/or approve packaging (graphics, materials, size, etc.)
  • Lead and manage cross-functional project teams with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Work with Demand Planning to prepare monthly SKU forecasts and participate in consensus activities
  • Act as a key leader on the Brand Marketing team and partner with Integrated Marketing, Customer Marketing, and external agencies to align our media/communications and promotions in support of the brand strategy
  • Manage the budget/marketing spending
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities by contributing to coaching and development of the portfolio ABM

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (MBA strongly preferred)
  • A self-starter that can find a business opportunity, create compelling business strategy, and explore it entrepreneurially.
  • Understanding of key business fundamentals and P&L management
  • Ability to influence the organization with fact-based evidence and salesmanship
  • Strong financial and strategic acumen, analytical abilities, communication skills, and decisiveness
  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask against several complex projects at a time
  • Ability to partner consumer/customer research with industry trends to generate business insights
  • Computer proficiency in Excel (e.g. pivot tables), PowerPoint (e.g. storytelling skills) and Word


Required Length & Type of Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Marketing, Brand or Category Management experience, preferably experience either with a leading Consumer Packaged Food company or in a B2B industry.
  • Food or Foodservice Marketing experience a plus
