The Global Wholesale Risk Technology – Trade Floor Risk Management and Risk Models Team is responsible for supporting, maintaining and delivering competitive technology solutions for Global Risk Management Department across multiple market risk classes.

The role

We are seeking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our team to lead and contribute to a range of exciting projects including the implementation of new reporting and analytics solutions, enhancement of our market risk applications to support Global Risk Management, as well as various Regulatory and Compliance programs. This is a good opportunity to gain the exposure to risk management practices across multiple business lines/ market classes. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders including business partners in risk management, Compliance, IT, architecture and infrastructure, others to understand business needs and drive the analysis and design of high-quality technical solutions.

Typical Day in Role

  • Ability to resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of Global Banking & Markets by applying their Capital Markets and technical knowledge to the design of systems solutions, methodologies, and/or processes. This includes conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining requirements and processes, and liaising with the users;
  • Work closely with stakeholders to assess the current and future states and perform detailed gap analysis; facilitate requirements gathering and discovery;
  • Provide hands-on support during various cycles of testing including Functional Testing, Quality Assurance, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing;
  • Identify upstream and downstream dependencies; understand data workflows and database structures;
  • Manage, elicit, analyze and document detailed-level business and functional requirements utilizing relevant user stories and artifacts;
  • Effectively communicate and build relationships within the Team as well as all the stakeholders across multiple LoBs, incl. various upstream/downstream source systems and vendor teams;
  • Experience working and managing Agile requirements in JIRA is required;
  • Excellent team player; eager to work with cross-departmental businesses & IT stakeholders;
  • Highly motivated and committed, capable of working in a dynamic environment with aggressive timelines and multiple projects running simultaneously;
  • Flexible and able to thrive in evolving environment; willing to adapt quickly and adjust the workload accordingly; great negotiator and problem solver.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 5 + years’ Business Analysts experience within the Capital Markets field, ideally within Market Risk;
  • 5 + years’ BA experience gathering requirements, designing methodologies, building test cases, executing test and supporting production system;
  • SQL skills are required – min 3 years’ experience;
  • Strong technical knowledge with exposure to programming language such as Python, R for data preparation and analysis;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Ability to solve technical problems/ processes and understand complex details;
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem solving and analytic skills;
  • Have project management and agile delivery experience would be an asset;
  • FRM/CFA designation a plus;
  • Great team player with ‘can-do’ attitude.


Degrees or certifications:


Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

Additional Notes:


About 30% of role would involve some form of Production Support; this is done on rotational basis
