Our pension client in the downtown core on King St West is seeking an experienced pension professional to join their team.

This is an ON-SITE position and hours are Monday to Friday 830am-430pm and offering a salary range between $57-59k per year. Vacation pay of 6% and benefits of 4% in lieu of stat holidays is offered.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • You are client focused with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can expertly reconcile employment history and financial data.
  • In this role you will analyze, investigate and complete corrections to all rejected transactions received from Employer interfaces; determine information/data needed to correct member’s records; validate information using detailed/ practical knowledge of pension administration requirements; validate information for the enrolments received from the Employer Portal; reconcile corresponding contributions and ensure it is received in a timely manner; identify any discrepancies and work with Employers to resolve them; and conduct follow-ups on a timely basis.
  • Review the data and confirm the accuracy for members on leaves, retiring or terminating. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal business partners and designated Employer contacts.
  • Provide on-going advocacy, information and education to Employers of the plan.
  • You will follow established criteria to ensure the quality and integrity of the information used by Client Services, identify issues and trends, and make recommendations to improve efficiency and service.
  • Working within a team, you will aim to meet or exceed client service expectations and provide data management support as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Background will include processing client transactions in accordance with established best practices/policies and explaining issues through a variety of channels.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Excellent time management, strong communication, and interpersonal skills that embraces teamwork.
  • Ability to meet established timelines and to process large volumes of detailed information with minimal errors.
  • Self-directed, but recognize the importance of relationship building with your team as well as with those across the organization.

Must have:

  • Working knowledge of federal tax legislation, the Pension Benefits Act, and the Public Service
  • Pension Plan Act. Working general knowledge and experience in the pensions industry

Salary: Up to $59,000.00 per year
